Driving Deaths in Summer are High

In the summer, the number of traffic fatalities is somewhat greater than other seasons. Jance Weberman, a Los Angeles accident attorney, talks about the dangers of driving in summer.

During summer, students are no longer in school. Instead, they are on the road. That means you get to meet a lot of inexperienced drivers on the road while going to your destination. For that reason, you need to be more patient this season. Stay calm and alerted so you can easily avoid those drivers who are obviously agitated.

Stay Hydrated

If you spent a long day at the beach, you would apparently feel tired. You need to stay hydrated, but you must not satisfy your thirst by drinking alcohol. Instead, drink plenty of water and make sure you have a bottled water inside your car. Then, avoid those drivers who are driving erratically.

Weekends

The accident rate during the weekends is high. Alcohol use probably causes it. According to several reports, almost 50 percent of all crash deaths related to alcohol occurred on the weekends. This is the time when teenagers go to pubs and hang out with their friends.

But it is not only teenagers who go out and drink. People who work during the week do go to the pubs and drink. Many of these people do get involved in accidents. Even though there are crashes that happen in the day, most alcohol-related crashes occur in the evening.

When you do go out with your friends to have some drinks, make sure that you know how to go home safely. If you are going to drink alcohol, make sure that you have a designated driver, who has not consumed alcohol. Instead of driving your car, use public transportation.

Then, if you see other drivers who may be endangering others on the road, you should contact the police. In this way, these drivers will be stopped before they hurt someone. And if you are at a party and see someone who drinks too much and attempts to drive, don’t allow it. Instead, get his/her keys. If you did not drink, offer him/her a ride.

To keep the roads safe for all drivers, we need to be responsible. Drivers have to pay attention. To reduce the driving deaths, we have to participate and follow the traffic laws.
